Amended transport management rules to go into force

BEIJING -- Three amended regulations, on highway management, waterway transport and shipping route management, will come into force on January 1, 2009,  according to a State Council decree signed by Premier Wen Jiabao.

The amended regulation on highway management stipulates that funds for highway construction may come from channels including the central and local government budget, sino-foreign joint venture, and loans.
