Dog makes fire and owner's kitchen burns

A makeshift kitchen in a residential area was set on fire after a pet dog ate the electric wire in an electric blanket, on Monday.

Firefighters were sent in the early morning to the house in Linfen, Shanxi province, where they took over half an hour to put out the fire and rescue the uninjured dog.

The owner had given the dog, which customarily slept in the kitchen, the blanket to keep him warm.
