HOHHOT - Twenty-nine of the 65 primary school pupils sickened on Wednesday morning by carbon monoxide poisoning are still receiving medical treatment or observation in several hospitals in north China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.

None of them were in serious condition, said Meng Lei, a regional health official on Thursday.

The pupils of Niuchang Primary School in Yuquan District, Hohhot, the regional capital, felt dizzy after they got up early Wednesday morning. Altogether 65 were sent to several hospitals.

As of midday Thursday, 29 remained in the hospitals.

A boiler room near the dorms of the pupils was blamed for the incident. The boiler was supplying heat to the dorms.

Earlier this month, 11 students died of carbon monoxide poisoning as they used charcoal stove to warm themselves in a middle school in northwest China's Shaanxi Province.
