Lad tells dad kidnapper's whereabouts in dialect

A 10-year-old ethnic Dai boy in Tengchong county, Yunnan province, was kidnapped on Friday but ultimately saved by his mother tongue and cool minds.

The father of the lad, Xiao Han, received a phone call from his kidnappers demanding 150,000 yuan ($21,898) ransom that morning.

Xiao Han's father reported to local police, who suggested the man demand the kidnappers allow him to talk with his son when they phoned back. When the kidnapper's obliged, he spoke to the boy in their Dai language and quickly learned his whereabouts and that two men had abducted him.

Police came to the rescue and caught the gangsters 10 hours later.
