The third annual China Beijing International and Creative Industry Expo (ICCIE) was unveiled in Beijing Wednesday. The main exhibition will be held at the China International Exhibition Center under the theme "Cultural Creativity and Service Trade".

Approved by the State Council, the ICCIE is a large-scale international cultural and creative industry expo. Previously, two such expos were successfully held in Beijing, bringing considerable influence to society at home and abroad.

The ICCIE plays an important role in bringing the advantages of Beijing resources into full view. The expo builds a professional and international platform showcasing a series of cutting-edge enterprises and Chinese brands, while helping promote the exports of Chinese products with independent brands and introducing international cultural and creative industry into China.

Divided into 17 exhibition halls under different themes, the expo will feature a Cultural and Creative Industry Exhibition Hall, Broadcasting, Film and Television Exhibition Hall, Tourist Attraction and Commodity Exhibition Hall, and more.

The Taipei Cultural and Creative Industry Exhibition stole the spotlight on the first exhibition day. Sixty-four Taiwan companies amazed visitors with a host of creative products, including a long-lasting popular hand puppet.

The leading forum of this expo will be themed "Chinese Culture and World Civilizations," aiming to explore the sustainable development of the Chinese Culture Creative Industry with the integration of Chinese culture and world civilization.

The expo has attracted several well-known global enterprises from the Cultural Creative Industry. Notable speakers, such as 2006 Nobel Laureate in Economics Edmund Phelps, will also be present.

The expo is slated to run from December 17-21, 2008.
