Would-be armed robber falls asleep on the job

A man was sentenced to a year in jail and fined 2,000 yuan ($290) for planning to rob a taxi only to crash out before he could pull it off on a remote road.

With a sharp dagger placed under his greatcoat, the man intended to rob the driver on the outskirts of Linfen, Shanxi province, but fell asleep on the way.

The kindhearted driver tried to wake him up but was shocked to discover what his passenger was holding.

He then locked the cab and called the cops, who hurried to the scene and nabbed the sleepy Lu as he was looking for valuables inside the car.
