Ember blamed for fatal fire in company dorm of east China city

QINGDAO -- Investigators said a smoldering ember is to blame for a fatal fire in a company dorm building in east China's Qingdao City on December 4.

Although they could not say what the ember was, they believe it ignited a pile of quilts at the Qingdao Jiayuan Michael Food Co., Ltd. around 1:40 a.m. when 51 employees were sleeping.

The fire killed 11 people and injured another ten.
