A farmer in Xunyi county, Shaanxi province, was killed after boasting he owned an ancient treasure.

Surnamed Jing, 60, the farmer once claimed to fellow villagers in Tunzhuang that he owned rare ancient porcelain valued at more than $1 million yuan ($146,000).

On the night of Oct 26, six men broke into his house and killed him before discovering his boast had been hollow.

The six suspects were all arrested last week.
