Thieves brought undone by dodgy taxi engine

Two men robbed a taxi driver and seized his cab but didn't get far because the car broke down.

Cabbie Hu was stopped by two young men around midnight last Sunday in Luoyang, Henan province.

The two men robbed him of 150 yuan ($22) and drove away with him on the backseat.

However, the cab broke down after a short distance and the thieves abandoned Hu as they caught a bus.

But he remembered the bus' license plate and called police, who quickly located it and arrested the duo.
