Theatrical romance ends in disastrous blood bath

A man who attempted to impress a girl nearly lost his life while putting on a show to save her from danger.

Lin, a 20-year-old migrant worker in Tianjin, fell in love with a beauty but grew desperate when his feelings were not requited.

In order to win her heart, he dreamt up a scene in which he would rescue the object of his desire from strategically cast felons.

Lin's friend, Pang, hired four men to stage the drama on Oct 23, but one got carried away with his role and stabbed Lin's legs until he passed out.

Police detained Pang and the four felons after two weeks on the run.
