Cat prefers cold swims to sitting on the mat

A 6-month-old cat has developed a habit of swimming in icy river water along with a group of winter swimmers in Chongqing.

Xiao Hei is the beloved pet of Sang Changjiang, a member of a local winter swimming squad. Each day its members look on agog as Sang's feline cat paddles more than 50 m along the Yangtze River.

Cats are normally terrified of water, but Xiao Hei began taking to the water like a mouse to cheese when it was just two months old.

Its owner trains her everyday.
