A young farmer recently received 13,500 yuan ($1,980) after he was wrongly diagnosed with liver cancer in Zhumadian, Henan province.

Chen Zhiming had mixed feelings when told he had never actually had cancer by doctors from Zhumadian No 1 People's Hospital earlier this month.

He had already spent his life savings after learning from doctors his liver cancer had reached an advanced stage at Dongdu Hospital in July last year.

The quacks had previously given him just three years to live.

Chen sued Dongdu hospital for 120,000-yuan compensation and grudgingly accepted the lesser figure.
