Police on the spot to nab pair of thieves

Two alleged robbers were caught just five minutes after their robbery thanks to the sharp instincts of police officers in Xi'an, capital of Shaanxi province.

Last Sunday night, three policemen were patrolling a downtown street when they saw two men seemingly fleeing something.

As they moved their squad car closer to investigate the reason for their haste, the suspect pair ran even faster.

By the time the robbery of a nearby shop was reported, police were sure they were hot on the trail of the main suspects, who by then were forcing a taxi driver to spirit them away from their crime.

But the police car had followed them and soon stopped the taxi, arresting the suspects Shi Mingkai and Ma Ningning just five minutes after their alleged crime.
