A noisy sand plant next to a rabbit farm in Guizhou province is thought to be responsible for devastating the animals' breeding cycles.

Zhang Jinhui, a farmer in Weng'an county, has raised and sold rabbits since 2002.

In April his bunnies gave birth to 500 kittens, most of which were born dead with the remainder eaten by their mothers.

Later, Zhang found his bunnies had become infertile.

After consulting experts, Zhang learned rabbits are afraid of loud noises and that a sand plant that commenced operation in March near his home had most likely caused the rabbits' suffering.

Zhang is currently talking with the plant to resolve the issue.
