Pooch walks 50 km to previous master's home

A little dog named Heizi in Xi'an, capital of Shaanxi province, is so clever it took 10 days to cover some 50 km to find its home.

Heizi was kept by a local resident surnamed Chen, who sent the dog to a farmer living in Lantian county about 50 km away from Xi'an in October. But the dog longed for its old master and ran away from the farmer after a week.

After 10 days walking some 50 km, the dog found its previous home in Xi'an.

A local animal expert said dogs can instinctually find their way home and that Heizi was a particularly clever pooch.
