Highway accident kills five in north China's Inner Mongolia

HOHHOT - Five people were confirmed dead in a rear-end collision road accident in north China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region on Wednesday morning, according to the local fire department.

The fatal accident occurred on a highway section linking Baotou City and Dongsheng District of Ordos City, at around 7:00 am, when a truck carrying cement drove into the rear of another truck loaded with stones, said Zhang Wei, an officer of fire control office in Baotou.

He said that the dead including the driver and four passengers were all on board the cement truck.

No injuries on the other vehicle were reported.
