Man makes maiden flight in homemade plane

A man flew a homemade plane some 5 km at an altitude of 320 m on Sept 25.

Peng Cong, an employee of a local telecommunication company, dreamt of flying a self-made aircraft and started building one five years ago.

After finally completing the project, which cost him 150,000 yuan ($22,000), he successfully made his first flight on Saturday afternoon in Jiangjin county, Chongqing municipality.

He now plans to build a helicopter.
