The 1st Cross-Strait Cultural Industries Fair is to be held in Xiamen, Fujian Province, from November 27 to 30 to promote cooperation and exchanges.

Zhu Qing, spokesman of the Fujian Provincial People's Government, said in a press conference in Beijing on Monday that the fair consists of three parts -- exhibition, summit forum and activities.

The fair will be mainly held in Xiamen Culture and Arts Center. Besides, there are other four exhibition venues for gardening, painting, sculptures and stone arts.

The Taiwan cultural industry shows a great interest in this fair, Zhan Cangzhou, deputy mayor of Xiamen said, adding that 270 Taiwan exhibitors have confirmed their participation.

A summit forum is going to be another highlight of the fair, said Luo Jian, an official from the Fujian government. The forum has four topics -- digital technology and creativity industry, arts industry, gardening industry, and new media and visual arts. Renowned scholars and experts in cultural industries will be invited to this forum.

Activities of this fair include creative fairs, movie display, square activities, doodles and cosplay.

"All are encouraged to participate, and we want to inspire their passion for cultural industries and we want them to feel the benefits which these industries have brought to them as well," Zhan said.

This is the first cultural industries fair co-hosted by the Chinese mainland and Taiwan. It will help propel cross-Straits cooperation and exchange, Luo said.
