Updated: 2008-10-22 11:34 RABAT -- The Moroccan Postal Service on Thursday issued a set of three commemorative stamps to mark the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations with China. The stamps were designed by Morocco, with patterns including Morocco's old gate, China's Great Wall and the typical chinaware and traditional lattice of the two countries. At the stamps issuing ceremony in the Chinese Embassy in Morocco, Ambassador Gong Yuanxing said bilateral relations have been developing smoothly in the past 50 years, with ever expanding exchanges and cooperation. The issuance of the commemorative stamps is an important part of a series of celebrations for the occasion, Gong said, adding that the stamps showed the long-standing friendship and cultural exchanges between the two countries. Anass Alami, director general of the Moroccan Postal Service, said the stamps witnessed the history and status quo of bilateral friendly relations and hoped the move would further promote cultural exchanges between the two countries. In 2003, Morocco also issued commemorative stamps to mark the 45th anniversary of the forging of its diplomatic relations with China. |
