Giant snail tourist attraction in villager's home

A huge snail is attracting hoards of curious villagers in Tunchang county, Hainan province.

Fu Chuanke was surprised to find a snail measuring 17 cm long and weighing more than 600 grams in his garden in Tengzai village.

Bigger than two adult fists, the snail is the biggest ever found in the village.

Fu said his home had become a tourist attraction since he found the snail.

The "African snail" is actually harmful to crops because it eats the branches and leaves of plants.
