China Intercontinental Press has new operator for English journal

China Intercontinental Press, directly under the State Council Information Office of China, issued a statement about the change of the operator for its English language periodical "That's Beijing", and issues concerning advertising and distribution of the journal on October 16, 2008.

The statement was issued at a press conference held by the press together with Hipower (Beijing) Investment Management Co Ltd, the journal's new operator.

According to the statement, Hipower began to operate "That's Beijing" in Arpil 2008. "That's Beijing" is one of the major periodicals in the "That's" series published by the China Intercontinental Press.

"That's Beijing", created in 2001, targets foreigners who work or live in Beijing. The journal covers information about Beijing's geography, nature, society and custom. It also deals with travel, literature and entertainment like music, movies and dramas.

Journal series "That's", edited by foreign professionals in Beijing, presents foreign readers with a comprehensive China, covering the economy, culture, and city life.

Over 200 participants from all circles attended the conference, including those from major media and foreign organizations in the capital city, as well as experts from English language periodicals.
