HARBIN -- A pileup on an expressway killed four people in northeast China's Heilongjiang Province Tuesday morning, a police spokesman said.

Four trucks collided on the Beijing-Harbin expressway near Shuangcheng City, about 30 km southwest of Harbin, the provincial capital.

Tong Yibin, a local traffic officer, said heavy fog and poor visibility caused the accident.

He did not say how many other people might have been injured.

The expressway section linking Shuangcheng and Harbin was temporarily closed after the accident, Tong said.
