New Zealand mental athletes bound for China

WELLINGTON -- New Zealand is sending a team with world class mental rather than physical ability to China for the first World Mind Sport Games, the New Zealand Press Association reported on Wednesday.

The competition is due to start in Beijing on Friday.

The games comprise Bridge, Chess, Go and Draughts with more than 3,000 competitors taking part.

New Zealand is sending five teams in the bridge competitions, in open, women's, seniors, under 28 and under 26 categories.
