Chinese scientists said Monday they had bred a genetically modified cow capable of producing proteins that fight cancer in humans.

The cow, born on Aug 2 in Beijing, produces CD20 antibodies in its milk. A dozen more will be born next month.

Mass breeding of the cow will enable China to mass-produce the therapeutic proteins cheaply, Li Ning, head of the research team, said.
