Chinese vice premier meets Finnish PM

Updated: 2008-08-09 18:56 BEIJING - Chinese Vice Premier Li Keqiang met here on Saturday with visiting Finnish Prime Minister Matti Vanhanen who was here to attend the opening ceremony of the Beijing Olympics. Li expressed his appreciation to the help and assistance that Finland offered when China's southwestern province Sichuan suffered a strong earthquake in May, saying that China and Finland share traditional friendly cooperative relations. China always regards Finland as a reliable friend within the European Union Li said, adding that China is willing to make joint efforts to boost political mutual trust and friendly cooperation between the two countries. Vanhanen said that Finland highly values the relations with China and would continue to expand cooperation with China in trade and other fields. |
