Top political advisor meets Japanese guests

BEIJING - China's top political advisor Jia Qinglin met here Saturday with a Japanese parliament member's league aimed at supporting the Beijing Olympic Games, which was headed by former Japanese Prime Minister Yoshiro Mori.

Extending his appreciation for the strong support from Japan to the Beijing Olympics, Jia said Japanese Prime Minister Fukuda Yasuo's attendance to the opening ceremony of the Beijing Olympic Games and the Japanese parliament members' joint efforts to support the Games have fully demonstrated that Japan attached much importance to the China-Japan ties.

Noting that China-Japan relations maintained a sound development, Jia said the Chinese side would continue joining hands with the Japanese side to promote high-level exchanges, boost strategic mutual trust, deepen mutually beneficial cooperation and expand friendly communication, thus to push forward the strategic reciprocal ties.

Expressing his congratulation to the successful opening of the Beijing Olympics, Yoshiro Mori said the Japanese parliamentary members' league aimed at supporting the Beijing Olympics will continue its efforts to push forward the Japan-China ties in a healthy and stable way.

The delegation includes Japan's Economy, Trade and Industry Minister Nikai Toshihiro, Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology Minister Suzuki Tsuneo and Noda Takeshi, chairman of the Japan-China Society.
