Updated: 2008-08-04 14:08 BEIJING -- The Beijing International Boat and Marina Development Show will kick off on November 20, amid the country's efforts to promote the cruise sports in northern Chinese cities. The show, to be jointly held by the General Administration of Sports of China (GASC), China Cruises and Yacht Industry Association (CCYIA) and the IIR (Institute for International Research) Exhibitions Ltd, is scheduled to last three days. "Water sports such as sailing and wind surfing develop slowly in China's northern cities, and the exhibition is a good platform to popularize relevant knowledge among citizens, said Li Quanhai, a senior official with the GASC. Boating industry in China lags far behind than some countries in Europe and America. The upcoming Beijing show will certainly provide boat producers in both domestic and overseas markets with great opportunities to expand their businesses, said Zheng Weihang, secretary of CCYIA. |
