Bear cub rescued 38 days after quake

A two-month old black bear cub rescued on June 19, 38 days after the May 12 Wenchuan earthquake, was taken to Chengdu zoo last Monday.

A local farmer named Zhang Qingguo found the cub deep in the mountains of Sichuan's Maoxian county as he searched for his missing goats.

"I found the cub, frightened and weak in a valley. As I thought it might be in danger I carried it down from the mountain and called local forestry police," Zhang Qingguo said.
