Zhang Guangze, 50, a former government official in Nujiang, Yunnan province, has traveled with his 90-year-old father to over 31 provinces across China in the past eight months.

"After 2001 when China won the right to hold 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, my father asked me to bring him around the country," he said.

"Last year, I decided to resign and sell my house to make my father's dream to come true."

Their journey has covered more than 69,800 km.
