ISLAMABAD -- Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf left here Thursday on a six-day state visit to China, to discuss bilateral relations, regional and international issues besides talks with Chinese leaders to further strengthen defense and trade cooperation.
This visit, from April 10 to 15, at the invitation of Chinese President Hu Jintao is part of regular high-level interaction between the two countries, the official Associated Press of Pakistan (APP) reported.
Musharraf and the Chinese leadership will review the entire gamut of Pakistan-China bilateral relations and discuss regional issues and international developments, said the report.
Musharraf is accompanied by Minister for Foreign Affairs Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Minister for Defense Ch. Ahmed Mukhtar, Chairman of Higher Education Commission, Chairman of Trade Development Authority of Pakistan and the Deputy Chairman Planning Commission, according to APP.
Musharraf was seen off at the Chaklala Airbase by Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gillani, Chairman of Senate Muhammadmian Soomro, Chief of the Army Staff, General Ashfaq Pervaiz Kayani, Chief of the Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal Tanvir Mahmood Ahmad, Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan, Luo Zhaohui and senior civil and military officials.
