BEIJING  -- The Ministry of Justice said on Monday that the number of notaries in China reached 11,000, handling a total of 10 million cases a year.

The levels of education and legal training for notaries had improved, it said, and more than 94 percent of notaries had received education above the college level.

Haier, a major Chinese manufacturer of electronic appliances, and other Chinese brand names have also received notarization service to register as brand names overseas and deal with anti-dumping law suits.

In addition, the Three Gorges Project, the manned space flight and other national key projects also received notarization services. The service has also helped people with agreements and contracts and other activities.
