BEIJING - Shanghai's weather bureau upgraded its road-freeze alert to the second-highest level Monday morning as more snow is expected today.

The road-freeze warning was raised to orange from yesterday's yellow at 8:07am today by the Shanghai Meteorological Bureau as it cautioned people to walk carefully and drive slowly on ice and snow covered streets.

Medium to heavy snow and rain will continue today as the low will drop to zero degrees Celsius. Today's high will reach three degrees, the bureau said.

Overcast skies and light snow is forecast tomorrow, it added.

The highest weather alert is red, followed by orange, yellow and blue.
