BEIJING -- China will enhance cooperation with foreign trade unions based on equality, mutual respect and non-interference in each other's internal affairs, Wang Zhaoguo, chairman of the All-China Federation of Trade Unions (ACFTU), said Monday.

"Chinese trade unions will establish and develop relations with foreign trade unions to push forward a harmonious world of lasting peace and common prosperity," said Wang, also vice chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, the top legislature.

Wang made the remarks in a meeting with some leading foreign participants in an international forum on economic globalization and trade union.

Trade unions in different nations should respect each other's mode of development and promote dialogues and exchanges, so as to cope with challenges with consultation and share development opportunities, he said.

The forum, kicked off on Monday morning in Beijing, was sponsored by the ACFTU. Chinese President Hu Jintao delivered a speech at the opening ceremony.
