The owner of a new car surnamed Huang has been locking a cat inside the vehicle in the hope that it will eat the mouse that has also taken up residence within.

Huang, a resident of Guilin, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, spent more than 200,000 yuan ($27,000) on the new sedan last week. The day after he brought it home, he was dismayed to discover that a mouse had seriously damaged the leather seats.

Unsure how to deal with the culprit, Huang decided he would just leave a cat in the car. He said the cat would sleep in the car until he was sure the mouse was dead.
