BEIJING -- The Tibet autonomous regional delegation composed of more than 20 delegates to the 17th national congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC), arrived in Beijing Friday morning to attend the congress to be opened next Monday.

The delegation, with minority people making up about 70 percent, was the first delegation outside Beijing to have arrived in the national capital.

The delegates, most in their own ethnic costumes, wearing hada, a ceremonial silk scarf regarded as a token of respect, had been elected from more than 160,000 CPC members in this southwest autonomous region.
