A lighter exploded in a car parked in the sun, as the temperature reached 35 C in Hong Kong.

The owner of the car, surnamed Wong, said he always keeps a lighter on the dashboard. The lighter exploded Wednesday around noon, when he was walking toward his car in the parking lot. "I was lucky. I could have been blinded if I was inside," Wong said.

Experts said that it is dangerous to keep combustible or liquified air products inside cars in hot weather when the car temperature can reach 60 C.
