Blooming algae fills large areas
of the Taihu Lake in the Yuantoudu Scenic Area in Wuxi, east
China's Jiangsu Province on July 25, due to the continuous hot weather. A
blue-algae outbreak in late May contaminated the lake and resulted in the
shutdown of tap water to about 2 million residents in the city.
