Passenger train knocks at cargo train in W. China

LANZHOU -- A passenger train bumped into a cargo train in northwest China's Gansu province on Monday night, but the accident caused no casualties, according to the provincial railway authority.

The N857 passenger train hit a cargo train riding in front on the Lanzhou-Xinjiang railway at 11:19 p.m. Monday. There were casualties, according to sources with the Lanzhou Railway Bureau.

Affected by the accident, some other trains have been delayed. Rescuers have rushed to the spot and an investigation is underway.
