URUMQI - Three people died in Thursday's flash flood in northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, local authorities confirmed on Friday.

The flood occurred at about 9:00 am on the Hongliugou section of State Highway 315 in Ruoqiang county, of southern Xinjiang.

Rescuers have found two battered vehicles -- a truck containing two bodies from the Sanchuan Dynamite Company and a car with one body.

The three bodies have been sent to a local hospital.

Details of the victims are not yet available.
