Survey: Real estate conditions dissatisfying public(CEIENGLISH.com)Updated: 2007-07-04 10:20 A survey published by the China Consumers Association Tuesday morning shows that the Chinese real estate industry has low credibility, and that consumers are generally dissatisfied. With an aim of enforcing social supervision and management in the commercial residential building market, reflecting consumers' opinions, the China Consumer Association recently carried out a survey on the degree of consumers' satisfaction about their commercial houses, within 218 common residential areas and buildings in 12 cities. In the 12 surveyed cities, the index of consumers' satisfaction with the real estate industry's credibility is 59% - in the "dissatisfied" range, the lowest among all the indexes; consumers' satisfaction on their current houses developers received a rating of "reasonable". Survey shows that general wage-earners in China currently spend half of their household income on the repayment of loans for their houses, with increasing danger. However, some real estate developers postpone the opening speed, hoarding housing resources and propagating fake information, suggesting the shortage of house supplies. The shrinking room area, changing building design and exaggerated description of the environment seriously impinge on consumers¡¯ legitimate interests. Experts say that the government should pay great attention to developers¡¯ illegal maneuvers in the real estate market, namely pushing up house prices, deliberately enlarging the contradictions between supply and demand, accelerating overdraft consumers' future incomes and restraining the real house demand, all of which is difficult for the government to macro-control. The China Consumers Association suggests relative administrations enforce
supervision, firmly investigating and punishing illegal
developers. |
