Hu returns to Beijing after G8 summit, Sweden visit(Xinhua)Updated: 2007-06-11 12:56 Chinese President Hu Jintao returned to Beijing on Monday after he attended the outreach session of the Group of Eight (G8) summit in Heiligendamm of Germany and paid a state visit to Sweden. In Heiligendamm, leaders of G8 and China, Brazil, India, South Africa and Mexico discussed at the outreach session a wide range of issues, such as the world economy, innovation and protection of intellectual property rights, freedom of investment and social responsibility, energy and climate change, and the development of Africa. On the sidelines of the session, the Chinese president met separately with leaders of G8 members and leaders of other developing countries. President Hu also attended a group meeting with the leaders of Brazil, India, South Africa and Mexico in Berlin. During his Sweden visit, President Hu met Swedish King Carl XVI Gustaf and Parliament Speaker Per Westerberg, and had talks with Prime Minister Fredrik Reinfeldt. President Hu and the Swedish king attended a ceremony for the return of the replica of Gotheborg from a China voyage. The two countries also signed a number of cooperation documents. |
