Ministry slams quality of China's MP3 players(Xinhua)Updated: 2007-06-05 19:52 A total of 65.6 percent of the MP3 players in China have quality defects, the Ministry of Information Industry (MII) said on Tuesday. The MII examined 32 types of MP3 players produced by 32 electronics companies in Beijing and Shanghai municipalities and Jiangsu, Guangdong, Anhui and Sichuan provinces in 2006 and found that only 11 products met standards. The other 21 MP3 players had poor sound quality as they failed to reproduce audible frequencies at the same volume at which they were recorded, the ministry said. It added that the power adapters of some players did not meet national standards on safety and electromagnetic compatibility. The ministry said the 32 electronics makers produced 60 percent of all the MP3 players in the country. |
