Salvadoran Cruz Hernandez, who is registered as being
127 years old on her national identity card, talks in her home in the village of
San Agustin, about 100 km (62 miles) east of San Salvador, in this August 25,
2005 file photo. Cruz died March 9, 2007. Cruz's age was based on the registry
of her baptism, as there was no national population record in 1878 when her
baptism was registered. Cruz, who worked as a midwife until the age of 100, has
13 children - 5 of whom are still alive - 60 grandchildren, 80 great
grandchildren, and 25 great great grandchildren and could become the longest
living person ever if her age is certified by the Guinness Book of Records.
