A man in Wuhan, the capital of Hubei Province, is negotiating with the Wuhan Zoo after an elephant threw a stone that hit his daughter in the head, causing her to bleed.

The elephant used its trunk to throw the stone in retaliation after tourists threw stones, mud and plastic bottles at it. The girl, however, was not among the attackers. She was in her father's arms when she was hit.

The zoo staff had to immediately send the girl to a nearby hospital for emergency treatment.
