A Hong Kong woman who underwent a beauty treatment called a "laser facial" for 28 days in a row has ended up with sesame seed-sized white spots on her face.

The treatment uses la aser to remove the upper layer of the skin and helps even out pigmentation and remove wrinkles. Providers of the treatment claim it's as mild as a facial and can be applied weekly.

Well-known skin doctor Henry Chan Hin-lee said four to six laser facial treatments should be enough. His experiment indicated that the technique, however, could promote cancer.
