Huzhou aims to cap $1.03b

Huzhou municipal government kicked off a business promotion event in Hong Kong yesterday aiming to cap $1.03 billion for 32 domestic projects.

In the event, the municipal government opens 32 projects, consisting of infrastructure, automobile, tourist and logistic projects, for overseas investors.

Following the effort of the municipal government, 27 of the projects have reached the agreement with foreign investors. Business and official representatives committed a collective signing ceremony in the event.

Sun Wenyou, secretary of Communist Party of China's Huzhou Committee, welcomed the overwhelming response, saying that it would bolster the region's economy.

Huzhou is located in the north of East China's Zhejiang Province and to the southern bank of Taihu Lake.

The leading industries in Huzhou are textile, machine building, light industry, electronics, building material, pharmaceutical and specific chemicals.

It is one of the fifteen major cities which were designated by the State Council to emulate the development of Shanghai Pudong through planning and development with priorities.

Huzhou boasts favorable location advantages and economics infrastructure. In the next five years, the municipality will adhere to the scientific concept of development, boost the economic, political, cultural and social constructions in an all-round way.

Having implemented the strategies, the cities in Hangzhou-Huzhou-Nanjing development belt will strive to develop Huzhou into a modern ecological lakeside city in Yangtze River Delta, and the most pleasant city to stay and to do business.
