Guangzhou, Dec. 20 - Accord, a sedan manufactured in Guangzhou-based Honda, tops a quality-testing report, which involves all China-produced brands, said a senior official of Guangzhou Honda.

The report was done by US vehicle consulting group J.D.Power, and was released in Dec. 15 this year.

Accord leads the sedan category with 116 points while the class' average score stands at 150 (the less the score is the less deficiencies one brand has).

Honda's another brand Odyssey trails to rank second in MPV test.

Four types are manufactured in Honda's Guangzhou factory with the rest two being Fit and City.

Sales of the four types is supposed to surpass RMB40 billion in 2006, according to a news release the factory sent Wednesday to a group web journalists from nationwide.

Honda plans to manufacture 260,000 autos in Guangzhou in 2006, as the factory has produced more than 230,000 from Jan. to Nov., a 10.7 per cent more than the same spell in 2005.

The factory will see a 50,000-auto increase in 2007.

Meanwhile, the Accord also tops China's sedan sales from Jan. to Nov. at 11,3338, reads the news brochure from Guangzhou Honda.

Guangzhou Honda, jointly set up in 1998 by Guangzhou Auto Group and Japan's Honda with each holding half-half stakes, now employs 5,600 in two factories in Guangzhou.
