A train from Wuhan to Shenzhen was delayed for over four hours when a passenger got his hand wedged in a toilet as he tried to fish his mobile phone out early on Monday morning.

Li Wei dropped his mobile phone as he used the toilet on the T175 that had just departed from Changsha Station in Hunan Province at about 1am.

Li tried to fish the phone out of the toilet but his hand got stuck. The train stopped for 30 minutes between stations, but no one on board managed to release Li's hand.

The train continued on to the next station, Hengyang, where rail staff brought in equipment to cut the man free. Li was sent to hospital for treatment.
