Six injured in Kowloon East pile-up

A traffic accident involving six vehicles left six people injured on Sunday night. The accident took place on a highway between Kwai Chung and Kwan Tong in Kowloon East at about 9pm, when a motorist lost control of his car and veered into oncoming traffic, causing a five-vehicle pile-up.

Emergency workers rushed the six people to a nearby hospital, where one of them was released after receiving treatment for minor injuries.

A 62-year-old man was still in a critical condition on Monday afternoon, while three were stable and one was in a serious condition, according to the hospital.

Police are investigating the cause of the pile-up, which also involved a mid-sized truck, a motorcycle, a bus and a family car.
