A 2-year-old boy from the Chang'an District of Xi'an, capital of Shaanxi Province, has learnt over 600 Chinese characters.

He can already pick the correct Chinese characters using flash cards, especially those for animals.

His mother, Wang, said she discovered the boy's exceptional learning ability when he was a year old. She has since bought him many flash cards to develop his reading.
